Baby Robin


 I found him a worm and he ate it.  I put him in another Robin's nest and when I went back to check on him he was gone.  His parents were around.   He was just walking out in the open field, ripe for the hawk to pick him off... 

The parents recognize their baby by sound and sight, not by smell...  It was okay to pick him up and put in the nest.

 This Northern Pintail Duck has been stranded in a pond for many months.  We don't know if he suffered a traumatic injury or is unable to fly, but he never left the pond when the weather turned and the other Ducks and Geese moved on. He would swim around the pond quacking a lot.    The Duck was rescued by a kind woman and is now living on a farm amongst Turkeys, Chickens, Ducks and Geese ,and has access to a heated barn! The people responsible for the rescue are going to be featured on the local TV news.
