The AP did a blurb on an Ohio animal shelter discounting "fat cats" for adoption... the summer sale is $15, down from the normal $70 fee.

My Gordo, pictured above was adopted when he was 9 years old. He is still around and as happy as can be.
Adopt a cat, not a kitten and you will have a friend for as long as they live...  The Gordster was a "big" cat, but he is not big anymore.  He does love to eat... but who doesn't?

Lost Duck has a home

 This Northern Pintail Duck has been stranded in a pond for many months.  We don't know if he suffered a traumatic injury or is unable to fly, but he never left the pond when the weather turned and the other Ducks and Geese moved on. He would swim around the pond quacking a lot.    The Duck was rescued by a kind woman and is now living on a farm amongst Turkeys, Chickens, Ducks and Geese ,and has access to a heated barn! The people responsible for the rescue are going to be featured on the local TV news.
