along the way





If I stopped to photograph everything interesting along the way to an art retreat, or just when I am out driving, I would never get to my destination. Sometimes I write it down, or try to make a mental note of a future photograph I'd like to take.

Darien Wi Penquin is a hand painted sign. I have a thing for hand painted anything. In my childhood, most signs were handpainted on brick walls, etc.

The other image is an old photograph from Cedarburg Wi which I liked.

How on earth did this artist end up in DArien Wisconsin to paint this sign?
How did you know it was her work???
Sad about her untimely death from cancer.

 This Northern Pintail Duck has been stranded in a pond for many months.  We don't know if he suffered a traumatic injury or is unable to fly, but he never left the pond when the weather turned and the other Ducks and Geese moved on. He would swim around the pond quacking a lot.    The Duck was rescued by a kind woman and is now living on a farm amongst Turkeys, Chickens, Ducks and Geese ,and has access to a heated barn! The people responsible for the rescue are going to be featured on the local TV news.
