Image
this dog is living in a screened in shed next door. his owner is away for 3 weeks. I have to check on him.. I hope he's gone and with his owner. I checked to see if the doggie was there and he's gone.  He must be with his owner now.  Good news.

How's Howie?

Image
Frank and Howie were exiting the mini and the leash got tangled and Howie got nervous and flipped down. Frank came into the house and said Howie's limping.... He's hurt bad. We went to the vet and xrays show some cartilage issues and he was put on meds.  He may need some therapy again.  We are all getting old and arthritis is just one of the things you have to learn to live with. Crisis averted

The back of the assemblage

I used Mica instead of glass for the backplate.

Howie the dog

Image
A terrible thing happened yesterday.  After his nail clipping, Howie got freaked out and jumped and flipped, possibly damaging his left leg again.  We have an appointment with the vet in 1 hour.  I hope he does not have to have another surgery.

sting

Image
This was the first time Sting performed at Ravinia.  He was there with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra as well as a handful of contemporary musicians.  It was a great show.  He may be 58, but he moves well and his body looks great for an older man.  Very sexy presence on stage.  Even the men commented on how he shined onstage.  Anyway, we were in the 18 th row, great seats, but my little point and shoot could not take a better photograph.  He was so sweet and sexy at the same time.  I always liked STing. 20 years ago, I thought he could sing my shopping list and sound good.  I still think the same way.

Mia and her Daddy

This is a photograph of my mother with her father in Rouen France before the war.

waffle house

WE would not steal the mug like the waitress suggested. We had them add $5 to our bill and got a clean one to take home with us. They do not sell these anymore. Yup, Frank wanted the waffles and we all went there when we were in ST. Louis.

Inviting Train Doors

Image
Good Advice:  Do not board a moving car...  I suppose the hobos who jump train cars don't follow this advice.  I know I would not be able to board a moving train. A Fact.

Train Travel the way it used to be

Image
This last photo is for Karen, who takes the train downtown... This could be her new Train friend.  She does not talk much or have smelly feet.  I don't even know if she has feet.

The Robot on the Roof was my favorite

Image
My last post of the photos I took at Ellis Nelson's place.  The robot on the roof was my favorite.

More of Ellis Nelson

Image
I felt it was an intrusion to photograph the 2 trailers parked behind his storefront.  I am not sure which one he lives in, but there were 2 of them parked side by side.  I photographed a lot of his older signs advertising his art.  The other photos show inside his workshop and the welding equipment he uses. Kathy, the owner of Valley Ridge Art Studio, knows him and he gladly opened the place up for us.

Ellis Nelson Artist

Image
This was the first time I met a real "outside" artist.  Ellis Nelson lives in Muscoda Wisconsin and still sells his art.  He is 83 years old now and still comes out to greet visitors and talk to them.  On this day, he was telling us about his encounter with the UFO.   (His daughter who was visiting also told me about her sighting)

frank's favorite

Image
This was Frank's favorite photo I took at the Rail yard. I'm posting it because  He is a such a good partner to go with me to St. Louis to the funeral.  Lots of hubbub and drama and delayed flights and waiting, but we got through it... Kevin's ex-wife showed up at the wake.  Most interesting and made me sad. Make the most of what you have... as Frank said:  Soon enough people will be picking over your belongings.  YOU REALLY CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU! Now, off to experience the wonderful Jane Wynn.  Ah, can feel the din of the meadow at Valley Ridge at night.  See how poetic you become when you talk of Valley Ridge.  Perfect.  Really quite amazing place.
